Editorial policy

What we rely on

• State motor vehicle, revenue and insurance department pages;
• statutes on legislatures' own sites;
• nothing from insurers, brokers or law firms.

When we cannot read something

We write not verified. A blank never means "not required".

Not advice

We report what state pages say and apply their numbers to the figures you enter. We do not tell anyone what cover to buy, and we do not review individual cases.

Review cycle

Figures are re-read by hand at least once every 12 months, and when we learn that a state changed its limits. No automatic reading runs today. The date next to a figure is the date it was last read.

Corrections

Write to contact@carinsuranceminimums.com with the official page. A confirmed error is corrected and the date updated.

Independence

No agency, insurer, broker or law firm pays for or reviews what is published. See the method.
