Illinois sets its floor at 25/50/20, and the Department of Insurance ties each line to the Vehicle Code: section 7-601 of chapter 625 requires vehicle owners to carry liability insurance, and section 7-203 sets $25,000 per person, $50,000 per accident and $20,000 for property. That $20,000 property line matches Montana, Nevada, Oregon and Wyoming among the states we read. The department gives uninsured motorist bodily injury minimums of $25,000 per person and $50,000 per accident, and says underinsured cover becomes required when higher uninsured limits are bought. Uninsured motorist property damage is optional, but the insurer must offer it with a deductible of no more than $250. Claims between drivers follow modified comparative negligence under 735 ILCS 5/2-1116: an injured party recovers only when less than 50% at fault, and the award shrinks in proportion to that share. The Secretary of State, which runs insurance verification, refused our reader, so we give no penalty for Illinois.

Not verified means that we did not read the rule on an official page. It does not mean that the rule is absent, and we do not infer at-fault status from silence. Ask the state before relying on a blank.
